Assistant Director
The Assistant Director oversees a specific program under the supervision of a Senior Director. Outpost made up of four programs or “small camps” with one Assistant Director each: Lower Camp (grades K-1), Middle Camp (grades 2-3), Upper Camp (grades 4-5), Senior Outpost (grades 6-9), and Junior Counselors (grades 10-12).
We are seeking someone with previous camp experience in one or more of the program components, including but not limited to:
- Knowledge of camp activities and ability to design and coordinate groups’ schedules
- Ability to supervise camp staff and work with children ages 5-14 and junior counselors ages 15-18
- Training and experience in child development and behavioral support
- Established leadership and supervisory experience and history of working successfully with a close team
- First Aid/CPR-certified and able to provide camp healthcare assistance
- Knowledge of archery, nature activities, water sports and/or other traditional camp programs
Minimum requirements are CPR/First Aid certification prior to camp. Bachelor’s degree and previous camp experience highly preferred.

Assistant Directors train every 2-4 weeks from January through May. In early June, the position becomes full-time (7:45 AM to 4:15 PM each day) and ends Friday, August 8, 2024.
Pay is based on previous experience and starts at $21.00/hour, $31.50/hour overtime.
