Our Camp Coordinators are part of our leadership team and provide the structure and support for our campers to thrive! They work with the Director team to ensure the safe and successful operation of our programs. We carefully select each coordinator who should demonstrate an ability to collaborate, to organize big-picture projects, and to keep camp running smoothly. Coordinator positions vary by specialty and skill area (see below). Most are are designed to be held for college students, recent college graduates, and/or emerging camp professionals.
For Summer 2023, we are hiring a Social Media Coordinator, Floater Coordinators, and Support Coordinator. Please contact our office for additional information specific to each position. Below are examples of Coordinator positions.
Floater Coordinator:
The Floater Coordinators are responsible for important camp systems, including behavior support, group coverage, and transportation. This role requires flexibility, the ability to build rapport quickly, and excellent communication skills. Floater Coordinators work with campers of varying ages across all camp programs. Previous experience related to child development, leadership, and group management is useful in this position.
Minimum requirement: At least 18 years of age; Preferred: Previous experience in camp, completion of 2 years of college or the equivalent
Schedule: 9-week full-time contract June 10-August 11
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:45-4:15 and every other Saturday morning 8:00-12:30. Staff meetings every other Wednesday 5:30-7:00.
Pay: $17.00/hour, $25.50/hour overtime
Social Media Coordinator:
The Social Media Coordinator has the opportunity to come up with creative and useful social media strategies and content. They are responsible for taking and disseminating camp photos and managing the Outpost app. They will create and post all social media campaigns aimed at increasing camper recruitment and retention, highlighting upcoming camp programming, and communicating photos, news, and educational material to camp families. In some cases, the Social Media Coordinator will be also be a mentor to a Junior Counselor.
Minimum requirement: At least 18 years of age; Preferred: Previous jobs in related fields and/or related college classes; completion of 1 year of college or the equivalent
Schedule: 9-week full-time contract June 10-August 11
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 and every other Saturday morning 8:00-12:30. Staff meetings every other Wednesday 5:30-7:00.
Pay: Starting at $17.00/hour, $25.50/hour overtime
Support Coordinator:
The Support Coordinators are responsible for implementing and supporting all camp systems and maintenance in coordination with the Operations Director, Clubhouse Coordinator, and the Outpost Leadership Team. Support Coordinators should be skilled in problem-solving and communication. Qualities like flexibility and dependability are a must in this crucial role that keeps camp running smoothly and helps to maximize everyone’s fun and safety.
Minimum requirement: At least 18 years of age; Preferred: Completion of 1 year of college or the equivalent
Schedule: 9-week full-time contract June 10-August 11
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:45-4:15 and every other Saturday morning 8:00-12:30. Staff meetings every other Wednesday 5:30-7:00.
Pay: $16.30/hour, $24.45/hour overtime
Clubhouse Coordinator – FILLED for 2023
The Clubhouse Coordinator is responsible for providing health and safety services to campers and staff, coordinating attendance procedures, and assisting with behavioral support for campers. This is an extremely important job for a highly organized individual who can be responsible for many “balls in the air” simultaneously.
Minimum requirement: At least 18 years of age; Preferred: Previous experience in camp, completion of 2 years of college or the equivalent
