Work With Us

Each year, you have only one summer.

SeniorcounselorThis summer, consider spending it making a difference in the life of a child while gaining valuable career skills such as leadership, communication, public speaking, supervision, problem solving and decision making.

Working with children is both fun and intensely challenging. Our directors are trained and experienced professionals who prioritize developing positive relationships with our staff. It is our goal to teach skills that staff can use for a lifetime.

What our staff say: Highlights from our 2025 Staff Survey

3. The staff meetings & trainings were useful, felt productive, and helped me grow.
4. Enjoyed training and felt prepared; right amount of training (not too much or too little).

What do you hope we adjust for Summer 2026?
1. More repetition of training about Outpost traditions & assemblies during training week.
We have added this to our training week schedule!
2. More specific process for reporting supplies/logistical needs to support team.
We are working on this & will communicate the new system during training.

At Outpost we "work hard, play hard." Our directors serve as mentors for each of our counselors, meeting with them in small groups and individually throughout the summer to support them as they work in the service of their campers and their families.

We pride ourselves in creating a positive, safe environment at all times at Outpost for ALL children and staff. We see challenging behavior as an opportunity, not an annoyance. We seek to understand and grow with children, and we support each other at all times while doing so.
